Suspension: NAIT-GMU Hockey-Leblanc Wing

This ruling has been requested by GMU.

Attached is a video posted to social media (since removed), which was made by Julia Wing and Megan Leblanc, both members of the NAIT Women’s Hockey team. The video reenacts a kneeing penalty assessed against a NAIT player during a January 24, 2020 game between NAIT and GMU. The video mocks the call made by the Referee as well as the GMU player who was kneed.

The post represents a violation of Article II Section 7 Rule 2 of the ACAC Operating Code in that it demonstrates a lack of respect towards another ACAC member and an ACAC contractor (referee). The post also violates the ethics rules contained in Article I Section 3 of the ACAC Operating Code.

Based on the above, Ms. Wing and Ms. Leblanc are each suspended for one (1) game, to be served on January 30, 2020 vs. OC.
