CASE: Communicating Directly to Commissioner

The Commissioner imposed a suspension on an athlete that was appealed and denied by the Executive Committee. The coach of the athlete was very upset about the suspension and emailed his opinions to the Commissioner and a member for the Executive Committee. As per O.C. Art III, Sec 5, 2.3, a coach must communicate his reactions to decisions/appeals through the athletic director.

RULING:

The coach was suspended for one game for his breach of the O.C. and the college was fined $100.00 for the actions of the coach and failing to have a process to prevent such actions from happening.
