CASE: Game Ejection: Reversal of Decision Owing to Supporting Documentation

A coach was assessed 2 technical fouls and a subsequent game ejection. The second technical foul was for swearing after a call was made. The profane language was actually used by an athlete coming off the court and the coach was mistakenly accused for it. The coach of the opposing team and also the opposing college’s Athletic Director submitted a letter with the officials report explaining the mistake.

RULING: 

Because of the supportive letter written by the opposing coach, the Commissioner ruled the coach eligible to participate in the next game.
