An athlete was involved in both a physical and verbal confrontation during and after a basketball game which resulted in his ejection. The athlete also spit on a minor official at the conclusion of the game.

RULING:

The athlete was assessed a 3 game suspension for his actions against the scorekeeper.

SEE ALSO: A similar case occurred in 2001-02 (Dean), where an athlete attempting to punch an opposing player struck an official in the throat. This resulted in the same suspension.
