2008-09 SeasonSeptember 25, 2008 Lakeland Men’s Basketball, Kevin Dia – September 25, 2008 - This ruling deals with a self reported breach of the ACAC Operating Code by Lakeland College. On September 25, 2008, Kevin Dia played for Lakeland in an exhibition game against RDC as part of the RDC pre-season tournament. Lakeland won the game 91-86. Prior to Mr. Dia competing for Lakeland, he provided the school with an unofficial transcript for courses taken over the summer, which Lakeland felt would have made Mr. Dia eligible to compete. Lakeland had hoped to receive Mr. Dia’s official transcript prior to the game in question but it was not forthcoming. Upon realizing that the official transcript would not be available, Alan Rogan unsuccessfully attempted to contact the men’s basketball coach to instruct him to keep Mr. Dia out of the lineup. Based on Art. I Sec. 5 Rule 10.1, Lakeland will forfeit its victory over RDC on September 25, 2008. In addition, Lakeland shall be levied a $200 fine, payable forthwith to the ACAC Office.
