2008-09 SeasonOctober 23, 2008 With 7:05 remaining in the third period of an October 18, 2008 game between MacEwan and SAIT, MacEwan Women’s player Trina Campbell received a major and a game misconduct for boarding. Ms. Campbell was pursuing Ms. Gellert, checking her shoulder to shoulder in such a fashion that Ms. Gellert was propelled into the boards, striking her shoulder. In the Referee’s opinion, there was no intent to injure on the part of Ms. Campbell. However, he described her actions as overly aggressive. Ms. Gellert was assisted from the ice surface and did not return to the game and was too injured to play in SAIT’s scheduled game the next day. Coach Larson advises that Ms. Gellert has a dislocated collarbone and will be out of action for the next 4-6 weeks. Commissioner B. Hendsbee ruled that pursuant to Art. I Sec. 13. Rule 1.1.3 Ms. Campbell is automatically suspended for one game. Under the circumstance, Ms. Campbell shall be suspended one additional game pursuant to Art. I Sec. 13 Rule 8.4.5. Ms. Campbell’s two game suspension shall be served as follows:
