2008-09 SeasonOn October 24, 2008 men’s hockey player Kiel Sonne was assessed a Match Penalty. According to the Referee, following an incident in which a CUCA player had been crosschecked twice, Mr. Sonne skated from across the ice to the ensuing scrum, where he approached a CUCA player from behind, throwing a blow directly to the side of his head, causing him to fall to the ice. The CUCA fell in a manner that caused two of his teeth to punch through his mouthguard, resulting in a swollen facial area. After reviewing all sides Commissioner B. Hendsbee ruled that the Match Penalty called by the Referee was warranted and that the default provision of Art. I, Sec. 13,Rule 8.2.1 of the OC is appropriate under the circumstances. As a result, Mr. Sonne is suspended for the following three games:
