Appeal: SAIT Meeting |

Appeal Ruling

2010-11 SeasonNovember 3, 2010 On November 03, 2010 when executive met we discussed your request to waive the fine of $500.00 for failing to have a representative at the September 14, 2010 Dak Stats Training session. In your email you indicated that the individual responsible for game day coordination resigned and you were in the process of hiring a replacement. In other situations over the years where the person responsible for a certain area is not available to attend a meeting institutions have sent a replacement to attend the meeting and take back the information shared in the sessions. In previous instances where representatives were available from institutions but no member was sent fines have been issued. It is executives understanding that even though SAIT did not have a game day coordinator in place there were other staff that were employed full time or part time by the SAIT department of athletics that could have attended the meeting at that time and participated in the training session. For those reasons executive declined your request to waive the $500.00 fine. The fee is therefore payable forthwith to the ACAC office. Alan Rogan Hello Alan, I’m not sure of the proper procedure to request an appeal for a ACAC fine so I’m hoping that an email will be sufficient. Just to provide you some background information as to why SAIT was unable to send a representative to the ACAC stats training meeting on September 15th. On August 25th, I was given notice that SAIT’s Game and Events Coordinator was resigning from her position effective Friday, September 3rd. As a result of this departure and the necessary time find a replacement, we were left short staff until Friday, October 1st when the Game and Events Coordinator began working. Accordingly, I hoping that the ACAC will considered receding the $500.00 fine in light of the staff departure that occurred in September. Thank you for your consideration, |
