2017-18 SeasonSeptember 20, 2017Facts: On September 15, 2017 RDC Men’s Hockey player Kletke (#91) received a fighting major and game misconduct. As per the ACAC Operating Code, this offence resulted in an automatic one (1) game suspension, which should have been served during RDC’s next game on September 16, 2017 vs. Innisfail. Ruling: Article I Section 13 Rule 8.11 of the ACAC Operating Code reads as follows: Use of Suspended Personnel: Any team which permits a player/coach to participate in any ACAC game(s) for which they were required to serve a suspension shall automatically forfeit the game(s) in question. The forfeited game(s) shall be deemed acceptable in serving the suspension. In light of the fact that Red Deer won the game Red Deer will forfeit the win which will be deemed acceptable in serving the suspension. I hereby direct the ACAC to change the results of the game to reflect a forfeit by RDC. Due to the fact that the competition was a non-conference game and holds no bearing in the regular season results Red Deer is also hereby fined $250.00 payable forthwith to the ACAC office. Sincerely, |
