Administrative Eligibility - MHC Soccer - Anson-Kiss |

Eligibility Ruling

2011-12 SeasonOctober 6, 2011Facts: Ms. Anson-Kiss plays on the MHC Women’s Soccer team. Last season, she played for Lethbridge College. Unfortunately, due to an administrative error, Ms. Anson-Kiss played six (6) games during the current season before the appropriate transfer form was filed with the ACAC Office. Ruling: Article I, Section 5, Rule 10.2 was revised at a recent ACAC Council meeting. It is now worded as follows: 10.2 Administrative Ineligibility The revised wording above is retroactive to September 1, 2011. If the transfer form had been completed in time, Ms. Anson-Kiss would have been eligible to compete for MHC during each of the six (6) games referenced above. Her situation falls squarely within Rule 10.2. Accordingly, the results from those games stand. In my opinion, Ms. Anson-Kiss playing in multiple games while administratively ineligible flows from a single error by MHC in failing to complete the transfer form on time. As such, I have treated this as a first occurrence and MHC is hereby assessed a $500 fine, payable forthwith to the ACAC Office. Sincerely, Bill Hendsbee |
