2003-04 Season (O.C., Art I, Sec 14, 8.3.5) RULING: The player served a one game suspension for his fourth game misconduct of the season. The Commissioner ruled that the player did not intend to injure the player, however the boarding was intentional and that contact was not accidental. This action is to be discouraged and was assessed a further game misconduct for the boarding causing injury. SEE ALSO: A similar case occurred the same season involving a slash to the arm that resulted in injury and the offending player assessed a major and game misconduct. The player was given a one game suspension as well. Also in the same season, a player received a 2 game suspension for kneeing an opponent and causing a significant injury. The act was determined to be intentional. |
