June, 2006 - Commissioner's Casebook A college mistakenly left a member of a soccer team off their eligibility sheet. This error was not identified until after the season was completed. RULING: It was noted that it was an error of omission; however the use of an ineligible player is a serious matter. The team’s season was ruled in default and their record was shown as 10 losses and 0 wins. All individual statistics remained unchanged with the exception of the ineligible player. Those statistics were removed from the ACAC records. The player who was left off the eligibility sheet was considered as using one year of eligibility. |
