June, 2006 - Commissioner's Casebook A student athlete competing in volleyball played 35% of the regular league games. After being overcome by carbon monoxide poisoning in an unusual accident while on an exhibition tour during the Christmas break with his volleyball team, the student was unable to continue for the remainder of the season. RULING: It was determined that the student would have his year of eligibility reinstated due to the affliction that he suffered which was of an accidental and unusual nature. |
