During an ACAC playoff soccer game a player competing on the field directed abusive and inappropriate language toward a fan on the sidelines. This incident was not witnessed by the referee but was witnessed by a member of the ACAC Executive Committee and the soccer convenor who were in attendance at the game. The incident was reported after the completion of the 1995 soccer season to the Commissioner by the Athletic Director of the college the offending player was competing for with the suggestion he be suspended for the first game of the following season.
RULING:
The offending player was suspended for the first league game of the next season with no effect on his 1996 penalty accumulations for his inappropriate actions in the playoff game.
